Toyota Rav4 vs Subaru Forester in Delray Beach | near Boca Raton, Lake Worth, West Palm Beach FL

Toyota RAV4 and Subaru Forester offer similar powertrains and exist in the same segment. However, the nature of both of the vehicles is quite different. While one is more youthful, the other one is an urban vehicle. Read on to know which one will best fit your needs.

Interiors

Even though the RAV4 is about an inch shorter than the Forester, the former offers a longer wheelbase than the latter. The front has a headroom of 37.7 inches, while the rear has headroom of 39.5 inches, which is enough for accommodating taller than average passengers. The front headroom of the Forester is 41.2 inches, while the rear headroom is 39.4 inches. In terms of luggage capacity, the RAV4 pulls ahead.

Power

The Toyota RAV4 comes with a four-pot, naturally aspirated, 2.5 L engine that offers a horsepower of 2013 HP and torque of 189 pound-feet. It comes with a choice between front or all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The fuel economy for RAV4 depends on the trim. The engine in the Subaru is also the same. However, it is a boxer engine that offers a horsepower of 182 HP and a torque of 176 pound-feet. Both of them have similar fuel economies, but some trims of RAV4 are more fuel-efficient than the Forester.

Styling

RAV4 sports an aggressive look, unlike its predecessors. It offers an edgy design along with a downward sloping grille and slant of the headlamps, which makes it look like a samurai battle mask. The plastic cladding, a high-set rear window, and slim wraparound tail lamps give it a sleek look. Forester has a traditional design that comes with squarish proportions and a high-set hood. The protruding wheel arches and the strong beltline add some flair to the design.

There are a lot of similarities between the two vehicles. But as seen from the above points, the Toyota RAV4 pulls marginally ahead of the Forester.
